Did you know that, according to the Community Life Survey, commissioned by the UK Government, people aged 16-24 are among the most likely to experience loneliness? That’s why we are pleased to see IW Capital’s portfolio company, BorrowMyDoggy, supporting the Loneliness campaign, as part of the Government’s Better Health – Every Mind Matters campaign. We’ve heard so many wonderful stories of how borrowing a dog from BorrowMyDoggy has helped people in times of loneliness. According to an in-house survey: 🐕 79% of people felt reduced feelings of loneliness and/or isolation by borrowing a dog. 🐕 86% of borrowers got more exercise when spending time with a dog. 🐕 96% said their mood improves when spending time with a dog, and 🐕 96% found spending time with a dog reduces their stress levels. The EU have recently announced the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Designed to improve the European circular economy and promote the reduction, re-use and recycling of plastic packaging, the PPWR states that plastic packaging that is recovered from consumer plastic waste, will need to have a minimum recycled content of the following (per unit of packaging): 🎯 30% by 2030 for single use plastic beverage bottles and 65% by 2040. 🎯 30% of packaging by 2030 for contact sensitive packaging, except single use beverage bottles, made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as the main component and 50% by 2040. And most importantly for IW Capital’s portfolio company, Impact Recycling, it also sets a target that all other types of plastic packaging will need to have a minimum recycled content of 35% by 2030, rising to 65% by 2040 🎯. IW Capital are proud to be backing Impact Recycling who are at the forefront of tackling the problem of plastic waste. His focus prior to joining IW Capital has been in the technology and financial services industry, across the real estate and the renewable energy sectors. IW Capital are thrilled to announce an investment of £3 million in a follow-on round for portfolio company Daily Dose Juice, the UK’s fastest growing cold-pressed juice and functional drinks business with sustainability at its core. Since first partnering with IW Capital in 2023, Daily Dose has delivered a strong year of growth and has won a number of contracts that have seen it stocked on the shelves of major retailers. Daily Dose will use the follow-on investment to make key hires in sales and marketing, and to enable the scale up of its juice production, having recently acquired a new production facility in Corby.
